I have decided against drilling the tank, and just using HOB filters instead. I have been reading a lot here and have been told, and have read that if I want any hard corals, that I need more light, but shouldn't have any problems keeping mushrooms/Zoa's, some Leathers in the tank. Thatch all i really want. Also, I'm not really wasting money, as I can resell the light later on, so its not like im just going to toss it in the trash once I'm done. Either way, money doesn't grow on trees for me, and this is my first tank. I will post pictures as I get stuff and get it setup.

If you get a 60" PC light, it will be hard to sell, since 60" isn't a common tank size, unless that's a 6 ft 125? Hard to tell from the pics.

I hope you didn't take offense to my comment as that wasn't the intention. Trust me, I know money doesn't grow on trees. I just wanted it to be something to think about.

Well, just got the tank inside today. I ordered live sand from the LFS and it will be here friday along with my 2 300 watt stealth heaters, test kit, and salt. My filters will be here monday. My Current USA Outer Orbit HQI/T5HO light should be here this week also. I got a good deal on it new off ebay for 520.00 shipped. 2 150 watt 10,000k HQI and 2 54 watt 430nm actinics, and 2 54 watt 460 nm actinic. I will also be ordering the 2 1200 powerheads, and 2 800 powerheads monday, along with 120 lbs of live rock and my protein skimmer. Tank should have water in it next weekend!!! Cant wait. Ill take more pictures for you all here as I get stuff.

well guys, im not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing. haha. The wife decided that she doesnt want the HOB stuff. She decided she doesnt want to spend the money on it and have stuff hanging off the back. So she wants to spend the money on a sump, and trade this tank into the LFS for a drilled reef tank. I will only go with a 125 tall, as I already got a great deal on the 60 inch light. So tomorrow I need to call the LFS at 10:30 and he is going to get prices on them for me, and let me know what he will give me for trade on my tank. So stay tuned!

O wow..... sounds like ALOT more work man. Your going to have to break that one back down, take it to the Lfs, which i doubt there even gonna give you something close to a 125gallon, If you want a sump u can just go that route. Tank dosent have to be drilled. Just run you some pvc piping along the 2 corners with a feed, and return line. Anywho. your choice!!!! lol i would stick with what you had thou if i were you.

I got a price on a Perfecto 120 gallon (60"x18"x26") drilled with both corner overflows new for $500 a few months back, but decided not to get it. That was "on sale". The best quality for a 60" tank is the reef ready Oceanic 156 gallon Ultimate aquarium with starphire front glass, for about $1000.

I was going to mention that you might want to think about moving the tank away from the wall a good 8" or so if you plan on having a HOB skimmer and stuff. Good choice on the reef ready tank. Don't ltet them overcharge you. Also, you might consider trying to sell the one you have on craigslist for more than the LFS will give you for a trade-in value.
