    6 inches isn't a lot in the return area. Evap will lower the water level in the return (pump) area of your sump first, you don't want that to get too low.

    ok, so raise each one by an inch??? 7 inches of water in there would be enough??? I didnt want to have more then 6 inches of water in the skimmer area, hence why I waned 6 inches in the return area.

    That would help; or just set up an ATO. I'm going to have to set up an ATO on my 75g setup as my 30g eats up 1/2 to 3/4 gallons of water per day, and that's the first area of the sump that takes the hit. I have about 7 inches in my return area. With MH and fans I'll probably go through 1-2 gallons per day, and my return pump would be sucking air.

    Well, I got the acrylic cut today and will be building the sump tonight. I decided on 7 inches of water in the sump total. Also will have pictures up tonight when i get it built

    well, got the bubble traps in and the 3 compartments seperated. There will be 7 inches of water in the entire sump in each chamber. First chamber is the inlet, second will be protein skimmer, and third will be uv pump and return pump

    well, siliconing the corner pieces in now. I will take pictures once I get them both siliconed in. You will have to forgive the glasses and cd cases, they are holding it up untill the silicone drys
