well im moving back to my dads house in a week or so, maybe sooner. so i dont really plan on setting it up too soon, but there will be heat issues since he does not have central air.

use a plant light or something, im sure you must have some of those crappy flouresent fixtures, that come with the tank, laying around. i think to cheato nutrients in the water column are more important then intense light.

I just read something the other day about growing chaeto and it said that you need as much light on it, like you have on your main tank....like if the fuge is 7 gallons, then you need enough light for 7 gallons(whatever that formula is) I'll see if I can find the web site I think it was WWM.

herre ya go about mid way down the page from WWM

    Refugium lighting
One quick follow up to the 13 watts PC- Am I correct in saying it will be sufficient to grow Chaetomorpha & Gracilaria a refugium of these dimensions? Or do I need to step the light up like 27 watts?
    Gracilaria
<these macros (like most) are shallow water species and require as much light (watts/gal) as full reef displays. You should aspire to provide at least 5 watts per gallon in this case to keep them successfully. Anthony>
