They don't run hot, they're normal output, but they'll light the tank.

Also, there's a freshwater version that has a plant bulb. It came with my 25 gallon when I bought it. My friend has a ten gallon saltwater tank. It's basically a fowlr with some nano fish in it. She borrowed the light until she could get another one. There are some zoas and palys that hitchhiked in on her LR and they are THRIVING under this light. Just to see, I threw a ricordea yuma in there and it is HUGE and making babies!

FYI, Dwarf Fuzzy Lions are hard to get to eat frozen food. Heck, most lions are hard to get to eat frozen. Sure are pretty though!
