Ouch. Sorry to hear that! Any change in behaviour before he gave up the ghost?? Very strange for a healthy fish to get stuck like that....wonder if he had an internal problem going on.

I don't know but that has been the story for me and my tank. No change in behavior. Usually there is a sign before they go belly up. Maybe there was an internal problem but you never know these days. Thanks for the love.

Sorry to hear of your difficulties and losses. Once you get your routine and dosing dialed in it will become smooth sailing.

The bad part is I know what to do but I dont know what to do. I am being told not to dose until levels get safe and then estimate from there. Its kinda confusing but I know that my parameters had nothing to do with my Naso dying.

I agree there. Sucks when you can't figure out why you lost a fish. Dosing is as much an art as it is a science. The best way seems to be to get your Mg in place then work on Alk then on Ca.

I have always read your threads and those from a few other trusty members so I always respect and follow your advice. But does mag play that much of a role that it can affect alk and calc?

I will P. i will get that done and go from there. I will definitely get another one next year but it never fails that when i get baby fish and wanting them to watch them grow they never make it past the 3 - 4 month time frame.

It is perfectly fine. I know its part of the hobby you have to deal with and respect.

I know it will Steve. Your words have a way to make my perspective change. Always positive hearing from the 3reef fam.

    Crash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My phosphates finally dropped from 2.1 to .51. I guess the pellets are finally kicking in. I just don't understand why my nitrates are still around 5ppm? But thats not the problem. I am in my bedroom and I hear this crash and come to find this happened in my tank.
