Well I just ordered my light. It is a custom 30" fixture with 1-175W halide and 2-65W pc's. I will probably run a 14K 175w with two actinic pc's. Man, I can't wait for it to get here. I decided to go with a 175w halide instead of the 250w because of electrical costs and because this will be an lps tank.

Ha ha...we were typing at the same time. No, I think it was just going to smooth, something was bound to happen. Oh well, hopefully it will be siliconed back on tonight. Then leak test tomorrow and get it ready for water, rock and sand on Sunday. No fish or corals for at least week or two.

Nah, shouldn't be too bad. I won't have light at least until then.

Okay, got the part to fix the box and redrilled it (funny this time is much easier)! Then I siliconed the glass to the back and I am going to let it set tonight and all day tomorrow. Perform a quick leak test and move it to its location. I forgot that I have to have my auto top off before I can fill it so it will be another week. But I should have rock by then so that will work perfectly.

Well the tank is running! There is sand, 15-20lbs of rock and water in the tank. My skimmer is already working and the tank looks great. I have to pick up some last minute pieces today, mag float, new hydrometer and digital thermometer.

I guess the light will be shipping soon from CA, so I am hoping in a week I will have the light. As of last night my salinity was 30ppt and slowly rising to 32. I went ahead and put some rock in that a friend gave me and I woke up this morning and my skimmer went nuts last night! The cup was full of foul smelling water that was crystal clear. At least I know its working. I re-adjusted the skimmer to run dry and hopefully when I get home tonight there will be some skimmate in the skimmer.

I had an issue with micro bubbles, even after all of the baffles in my sump. But have realized that was my skimmer breaking in. This morning it was a little better, less bubbles. Tank is very quiet compared to my 180 and the water is running very cold, like 73-74 but I put a heater on it yesterday to hold it at 79. Hopefully once I get my lights on the aquarium, it will stay about 78-79.

Anyway, I will post some pictures later.

    Tank is gone! [smiley=bawling.gif]

Last night I was at home playing on the computer and my dog started going nuts and my wife started screaming for me. I ran down stairs and she said, something just hit the house?! I looked around but didn't see anything. She said it was really loud. I kind of blew it off. I went over to look at my new EuroReef to see how it was running and the water level was low. Which was weird because the tank was just full. I flipped the switch for my top off and I noticed that water was pooring from the back of my tank.

Well to make a VERY long story short, the back of the tank cracked and I tore it down.

So I am quitting this hobby. Too much has gone on since the beginning of the year.

    Trying again! [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

I just found out that my light shipped and there is no way to get a credit, so I have to keep the most expensive piece. So I am getting a 20l and putting in an external overflow box.
