    ive decided to make a thread with info about the progess along the way of my new 40 gallon reef tank.

    the tank is 4 weeks old

    well i currentley have a 20kgs of fully cured live rock,40lbs live sand,2 powerheads,aqua pro 4 canister filter,red sea prizm skimmer,2 tank-bread percula clownfish & 2 skunk cleaner shrimp.

    i used 2 med prawns to cycle tank.

    i did have a small mini cycle when i put the clowns and shrimp in.
    it lasted 1 week and now everythings fine.

    in a few weeks i will be buying a clamp on metal halide.

    Tank's looking good so far. I just had one concern, in the first two pics, the water level dropped a lot in the second pic, do you top off the tank regularly? If not, your salinity will constantly swing which can be stressful to the live stock.

    I think they are nice tanks, but the way the stands are made you are limited with your filtration.

    the water level was low as when i done a water change i didnt have enough ro water at the time to fill it back to the right level, but this was only one the 1 occasion.
