don't feel bad about the sea clone. just give it time to start kicking out the yucky stuff. I have mine and it's been working fine after about 3 days of breaking in and taking the air valve off it. plus it started working better after I placed it in the sump and had the pump hooked straight to the unit and not using that J tube extension for HOB.

Had the sea clone inside the sump but didn't seem to be running right so i took it out and now it hangs on the side of the sump. Also replaced the crappy air valve that was included with a proper screw type adjuster. Sucks because it also means that i have to top up daily to maintain proper coverage of the intake.

that valve seems to be the common issue between these things.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Tank looks great, my only concern is the stability of the rocks in the upper most part of the scape.

Nice choice on the Chalk Bass.

Sea Clones work but they are a pain in my experiences, micro bubbles, salt creep, noise and constant adjustments. Hopefully the valve will help. I used to take tiny balls of cotton and stick it in the air intake to adjust the skimmer.
