Hello fellow reefers, well I've finally got some time to throw some pictures of my corner tank together. I started the old school way of letting my tank cycle with 70#s of live rock and 40#'s of Nature's Ocean Bio-Activ live aragonite reef sand with a hydor 1050 to circulate in the tank, and a mag 9.5 pump from a 10 gallon sump. I started this tank on December 29th and know time is the most important thing in this hobby. I'm currently running carbon in a old fluval 303. I didn't have the lights on while the tank was cycling but after the 4th week I added just 2-24" T5HO lamps on the tank. With tons of research I plan on adding a custom sump from Bashsea as the space is super limited in the stand of this tank. I also plan on adding a rapid led kit as well. Here are some pics of the (SLOW) progress thus far. Enjoy and be ready for some updates. Bare with me on the pics as everything is in a makeshift position until I get my sump (which should be this week). I have the overflow on the front of the tank to test the direct siphon method. (the 2 elbows are no longer on it)

Looks good. I like the nepthea with shrooms around the bottom. Also carbon in the fluval isn't needed. It could cause issues down the road if you don't maintain it. I run carbon when I need between my sump baffles. I use the sheets you can cut to size

Thank you very much, The fluval was only used during the cycling phase. I just had it laying around and figured I would put it to use. I may go with a media reactor later if needed though.

Corner tanks are challenging. Custom sump is a smart move. Do you plan on adding more lights?
I look forward to seeing that. You have the right attitude - this should be a cool tank!

Yes, while I like the T5HO's, I have a good plan on a fixture im going to make. (considering im a CNC Programmer and I have access to machines on my own time) so i'm going to be adding the 48 ultra kit from rapid led in the very near future. And I will be throwing some questions out there to see what everyone thinks.

    Quick Update!

Well I have a order in for 24 LED's from Rapid and also added 4 UV's to it as well. I just wanted to get some LED's and experiment with them so I could put this lighting project together. I plan on having at least 48-60 LEDs over this tank.
I also was informed my sump from Bashsea would be in this week as well. After talking with Steve he talked me into a 6-24" twisted skimmer, and a 4-12" Media reactor. I'm beyond stoked to get these in action. I have only heard good things and hope the quality is in these products.
Pics and reviews will be had. I love all the info this site has given me, so I feel anything I buy should be shared with others as well.
