    The only 2-250 halide fixture I havew found are 15 inches and your tank is only 12. How are you going to compensate for the lose of light where the actinics hang over the edge of the tank? Unless you have found some that fit the tank. If that is the case where can I get a set. I would prefer that over the 6 bulb t-5s. Sorry if it looks like I am jacking the thread just have a curiosity about your lighting idea's.

    Eggcrate under live rock and sand is for protection against diggers such as diamond gobies---so they dont dig caves under your rock and cause an avalanche.

    I'll probably use the PFO parallel reflectors, adjusting my canopy dimensions to accommodate them.

    Good idea, I found some lights there 2-150's so I might go with those. I think the 250's might be a bit much since from the cc up is only 19 inches. But I might do the 250's stil kinda up in the air...
