Yes!!! I'm finally where ive been mowing my every week for a month to get. my dream for a long time has been to have a FOWLR in one of my 55g's. I just finished moving my fish from my 20g into my 55g. I know it looks really barren with only 15 lbs of LR in it but im working on it. I'm in love w/ ,y 4 foot light, it is nice and bright and the bulb is just the right mixture between the blue-ish and yellow-ish white. Im also working at getting an octopus BH-300 and a layer of Live-sand. Does anybody know about petco LR? I just went there today and i noticed how booming with life their rocks are, each one has a dozen feather dusters on it, i want to get one piece to seed my other rock w/ the nice algea. I may also get a small yellow tang to keep it in check also. Yes, i realize my 55 won't be big enough for it when it grows. Just wanted to acknowledge that my water is slightly clouded from my crushed coral.

well, all of my other stuff is fiji, but it isn't very alive. i think one of those will get all of that great life on the rest of my fiji. But hey, i noticed what apeared to be a few bristle worms on the rock i wanted. What is bad about them? also, how do you get rid of them other than traps? I'll also have to look out for aiptasia springing up. I already hade a bottle of lemon juice in my arsenal just in case. Also, do feather dusters have special requirements? Also, do you have to feed them like the kent bottles of plankton?

what are you going to keep in this tank because depending on the fish, those dusters may not last long anyway.

i dont think there all bad, i think it benefits your tank to have some kinds.
but i dont know since ive never had them.

little tiny duster get by with just whats in a mature tank. but i think a drop of phytoplankton wouldnt hurt

You can get rock much cheaper online. MUCH cheaper. Get some reefcleaners dry rock. Many folks at the reef club around here have had good experiences with Marco rocks. It will eventually become live rock, and you know you have no bad hitchhikers. Some folks don't like bristle worms because they can damage some corals. They also will sting you if you touch them.

when you say a drop of phyto plankton, do you mean squirted directly into the crown or just in my tank to get a colony growing.

just a drop added to the main column dont spray them with it, it probably will just agrivate them, that is if they dont hide from you hand.

no matter how much fun you think this is, i dont think the animals will
