How long did you cycle your tank before adding the fish and corals, what type of equipment?

well the live rock I added was already "cured". it was taken from an already established tank, packed wet, and drove it straight to my house. so my tank never really cycled that I know of. I didn't have a test kit the first 3 or 4 days I had my tank running. but when I got one I tested everyday and all the water params were perfect. so after a couple weeks of that I added a CUC and nothing died...so after another week I added a couple fish and they did fine. so I figured I was good to go. ;D
equipment is a 600 gph overflow with a TOM aqua lifter pump to keep it primed, seperate 5g refugium full of chaeto, a 10g home made sump (almost too small, but all that would fit in my stand), a coralife 65 super skimmer, 200w heater in sump, a rio 2100 return pump, and one koralia 4 powerhead. lights are a 4x55w T5 with two 10k's and two 460nm actinics

thanks! I don't have a lot of coral yet, but I'm getting there. I've got a green hammer thats about 3.5" across, a small colt, a small blue/purple mushroom, and some zoas. I'm hoping my bicolor angel doesn't nip at them. I don't want to add anymore coral until I see how "reef safe" she is ;) but so far so good!

oh yeah, I don't have the caps that you see in the pic anymore. they were looking kind of pale in my tank so I gave them to a friend who has more experience than me to take care of them

Looking real nice! Maybe more rock? I like a lot of rock so I am biased. Other than that, if you are planning to get more coral as you said you may want another Koralia 4 in there. Back middle flowing toward the front maybe. O.k. keep up the good work and pics.

you've got me beat all around then, cause I'm not really impressed with the skimmer. lol it works good enough at removing junk and making skimate, but anytime its running it puts a LOT of micro bubbles back into the water, which gets pumped back to the DT and it looks bad. so I usually run the skimmer at night and when I'm gone to work. but when I'm home or people are coming over I usually turn it off just so I don't have to cloud of tiny bubbles in the tank.
