    Welcome to 3reef.

Your tank looks very nice. I like the effect the halide creates - it gets that cool shimmer with the high turbulence in the water. It looks like you have lots of good coralline growth too.

Yes the coraline growth is pretty good, I've only been running tank for 2 months and my back glass is already covering up in the bottom and half my tank, Rocks are good also.

I've been running a 29 for 7 months and I don't even have half that much coralline algae. lol. Did you start with a lot of LR?

Yes i started with lots of live rocks, but the LR doesn't matter. The only matter is if your lighting is strong enough or not. Im actually parting out a current USA 20 inch 14k metal halide with moonlights $100. This thing is $300 new.

Well that's true. I don't have lights over it. it's just been sitting without livestock. lol. I was doing a 75g build, but I shattered the tank so i didn't do the build. But now I have a relatively mature tank at least.

I am going to run LEDs on my tank.

There are LEDs that can grow corals as well as MH. You just have to know what you are looking at, and be willing to pay the price for quality.

Well leds the more expensive you go the better it is, but whats the point. Youll probally be spending around $1000 on a good led when its no need after all. LEDs are great but halide has the best growth.
