I was kind of curious! hopefully someone will comment, but I came across a question on the net someone asking how much weight his stand can hold for a 75g aquarium, so it got me thinking about my stand. There are several members using the 72 bowfront, should I make modifications to the stand or should it be good as is?

I have a 120 gallon tank on a stand that isn't much more stable than that one. I wouldn't worry about modifications. With that being said, a stand can never be "too sturdy"

Will I did most of what I had planned, made something for the MH light to sit on, modified the stand a little. Got the extra rock and sand, but now I can't do nothing with it, cus my landlord thinks it will be to heavy for the floor to support. The joys of renting.

hahaha!! NO :( I really want to though. If me and my wife could get work we would just go back to our home in Glendale, CA. No such luck so I guess we will stay here in Minnesota, keep our jobs and try to talk the owner in letting me set it up. I think the floor will support it. I am sure the floor would support a group of 4 to 5 people standing there, same thing right?

What were the parameters you listed from? Yes, that would be about the same - sure hope your floor could support 4 or 5 people - geez - I was a landlord for a very brief time and we were just thrilled when our renters actually paid their rent! :)

Those parameters are from my 40b that will be going in to my 72 bowfront soon.

Never had water in the tank since I bought it, so it was time to give it a leak test, I sure in the heck didn't want to tear down my 40b just to find out the 72 has a leak, so it appears I am good to go to the next step.
