My yellow watchman goby has shown no signs of burrowing... Is this normal? he is just hanging out on the sand. He seems ok, i just figured he would burrow or at least hide in the rocks.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Yup, normal. Mine rarely burrows on his own.

Nice set up you have there. Really like your sump and aquascape. Keep up the good work.

    Thanks Brian!!

I'm hoping to get my cabinet doors next week and will post updated stand/canopy pics. The AquaC urchin pro i had was very loud without doors being in place. I can barely hear the swc.

I did make a few splashes adding the shrimp to the tank. how should i clean my t5 reflectors?

Well, my YWG got stuck in the overflow and then before i could get him out he got stuck in the adjustable teeth and died :( On the positive side though, my peppermint shrimps have decimated all the aiptasia i had on my LR from the 36 gallon. They are all eating well and at least 2 of them have molted.

The new skimmer is still skimming a little wet. I either get wet skim, or adjust slightly and get no skim :\ It has only been 8 days though, so i will be patient as its already working 100x better than the urchin.

Sorry to hear that :( On a positive note, your aquascaping and canopy really look great! I'm looking forward to see how this tank progresses.

Well, it has been quite awhile since I updated this thread.... My tank has been quite neglected this past year. My daughter was born in April, so we have been a bit preoccupied to say the least. Now that she is a bit bigger, I am getting this tank back in order. A few months ago, my float switch failed and my salinity dropped rapidly. My SPS and Duncan did not like this one bit. My Duncan died as did most my SPS. I did have a few frags ALMOST die, but there is still a tiny bit of flesh with some polyps. My T5 bulbs were over 2 years old and my tank was growing algae like crazy but coral not so much. Going 8-10 months without a water change probably didn't help... Anyways, this is the culprit of the neglected tank: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1360704944.416396.jpg
Here are some pics of my ALMOST dead SPS. I know some of you will probably say, "that is toast," but the tissue recession stabilized a few weeks ago and I have finally done a few water changes. I know 2 of the SPS have barely any noticeable flesh on them, but all it takes is a polyp to have a chance right?

I got new lights last week. 2x 16" controllable reefbreeders. I really like them, and am hoping they will help revive my dying SPS. They are set to max out at 13% blues/violets and 17% whites/grn/red. I am going up by one percentage every other day. The algae around the zoas looks bad but has already started receding since doing one 10% water change last Thursday, and another one yesterday. My stock is really light, only 2 clowns, a yellow watchman goby, a bubble tip brittle star, and a cleaner shrimp. This was the second YWG I had nose dive through my overflow. The first one got stuck and died. This one made it into the overflow chamber alive, but I could NOT catch him to get him back in the tank. My stand pipes were getting in my way and I finally gave up. I just left him in there. I didn't purposely feed him and figured he was a goner. I had to do some work in the overflow 5 months later, and that sucker was still alive, and BIG! I was able to catch him the second time but was amazed that he was still living after so long. The orange clown is 7 years old. I am surprised she is still kicking. How long have you guys had them live in captivity? I plan in making a trip to the LFS this week for some frags and maybe a fish or two. I was thinking about a yellow tang and maybe a purple firefish. I would love a target mandarin, but will probably not get one unless they happen to have ORA there. Last time I went they were contemplating carrying them so we will see. I really want to give my goby a pistol shrimp friend, but I have really fine Marco rocks sand and think that may be a recipe for disaster. Does anyone have experience with a pistol and fine sand? The sand is 2 years old, so it doesn't blow around near as much as it did in the beginning.
