    Update!

I have had some ups and downs with the tank these past few weeks, but everything seems to be coming together nicely. The frags I got a few months ago came with some unwanted hitch hikers. I ended up with the unwanted monti eating nudibranches. Ugh. They first went after my rainbow monti, and although i dipped and scrubbed and dipped and scrubbed, they ate every bit of it over about a months time. The nudibranches then quickly moved on to my monti spongegods(sp?), which was epoxied into the rock and impossible to remove and dip without tearing up my aquascape. I tried siphoning as many of the nudis as possible but couldn't keep up with them.

Since my tank was thoroughly infected with the nudis with no good way of ridding them, I figured it was time for a natural predator. I got a Melenarus Wrasse. It was pain to get him to eat and he got really skinny over a few weeks time. Finally, after way overfeeding the tank (he would eat ONE tiny piece of food each time i fed) to keep him from starving, he fattened up and started accepting food. The nudibranches are now at least being kept in check with the wrasse because there have been no signs of them on my other 5 montis. Unfortunatelly, i then had an algae problem from the massive feeding i was doing. That is back under control and all is good. Here is a FTS and some comparison pictures. A few of my acros started bleaching when i was on vacation, but everything seems to be recovering and the unaffected acros are looking great!

The corals I had that were on the brink of death with only a few polyps left have recovered nicely. My green bali slimer seems pretty immortal as he has been on the brink of death a few times and just keeps coming back.

Thanks! My birthday is this week and my girl ordered me some Hanna Checkers :D The alk and phos checkers are in route and I will probably order the Calcium checker soon. I HATE testing, and thus have not done it in over a year (bad i know), so... I'm hoping this makes things a bit easier and am looking forward to dialing in my dosing better.
