So I just bought a cheapie 10 gallon tank that my lfs is drilling for me. I built another stand that will be above my sump. I will use it as a fuge.

Any thoughts to whether I should have the overflow from the fuge go into the "clean" area of the sump or should it be sent to the begining where the overflow from the main tank is?

Dang you need to build me a canopy, your wood skills are awesome.

As for the fuge I would put the drain in the first section of your sump, so that you wouldn't have algae getting stuck in your return pump.

    Thanks!

Good idea I will put the drain in the first section. That makes better sense.

I got the ten gallon tank drilled and I will use that as my fuge. I will post pictures as soon as I have it up and going.

I am like just over two weeks cycling the tank. I am getting rather anxious but I know that I have to patient.

Okay so I got my fuge portion all set up and to Bob123's recommendation I pump the water from the clean portion (where my return is) of my sump to the fuge at a slow pace, I pure about 2 inches of sand in it and it overflows back into the sock of my over flow of my DT (first chamber of my sump)

I am really proud of the set up and will post pictures soon. Once I am in front of a computer again.

Now can I use this a quarantine tank for the future? Or because it is attached and cycled through the main tank/ sump it will not work as a QT?

I'm thinking since it's plumbed into your main system, it wouldn't work as a QT.
