Hello everyone. Sorry for such a long drawn out into but after too many long years not keeping a SW tank and having kept FW I decided to get back into the SW hobby. I decided to go full reef. So far it’s been a mix and I haven’t decided which will dominate my tank yet.
I officially joined the 3 reef family in March and I have been posting, asking and reading a ton of information and let me say you guy’s rock!! So thanks to you all for all the information and help that I was given.
I originally started a thread called aquascaping comments (http://www.3reef.com/forums/new-hobby/aquascaping-comments-133233.html) (a lot of pics here so I’ll try not to duplicate too many) this thread kind of took another direction so here I am now showing off my tank. My tank turned 2 months old on June 23rd after it cycled. Please feel free to give advice, criticize, and pummel me if you must. I’m still a newb and have a lot to learn.
Here a list of what I have for equipment for my 90, CPR Aquatic Cyclone Bio-filter CY194 with Protein Skimmer (rated for 200gal) I replaced the bio media with rock and I replaced the skimmer (yet to install I just got it) with a Warner Marine MF-121(thanks Jon)( and Vinny for the awesome review), an additional 20gal sump, BRS carbon reactor, BRS GFO reactor, two part with BRS 1.1 dosing pump, Tunze auto top off, 75GPD RO/DI filter w/separate chloramines filter, PH and Salinity Meter, Reef test Kit, Hanna Test instruments calcium, phosphate and Nitrate digital testers (I read a lot on redundancy) UV Filter 300 watt Heater, Mag 9.5, 8 power heads (4-500 gpm & 4-1600 gpm) turnover is about 60x, 160 lbs of dry rock between Main Display and sump, Rock in display tank on egg crate about 1 1/2 off the bottom, Dual DC fans in stand to help control heat, 6 DC fans in hood controlled by temp sensor 1) 48" True Lumen Pro LED 12k, 1) 48" True Lumen Pro LED Deep Blue, 1) 48" True Lumen Pro LED Marine Fusion, 1) 48" R2 Solutions Moonlight, Digital Aquatics Reef keeper Lite Plus, Eco Plus Chiller and a CPR Aquatic HOB refugium with Chaeto and pods.
My fish stock consists of Tomini Tang, One Spot Fox face, 2 O clowns (not paired), royal gamma, YWG, Eyelash Lawnmower Blenny, Fairy Wrasse, two blood red shrimp, a few scarlet hermit, a queen conch and a whole lot of snails. Here is where I am really bad at remembering names so don’t beat me up to bad. Corals: Aussie Elegance, Toadstool Brown & Green, Green Bay Packers Zoas, Eagle Eye Zoas (so I was told) Frogspawn, Red Candy Cap Coral, Orange Guttatus Birdsnest Coral, neon green hammer coral, some type of leather (not sure what it is) and others that the names escape me. (Bad I know) I’ve also uploaded videos on YouTube so I’ll post the links too.
