My Vegas, controller, EXT ceiling mount and rail was delivered yesterday morning. I had to leave for work, so I didn't get a chance to play with the new toy! My plan was to wait until I was off work on Friday to install everything.

I got home from work just after midnight, and figured, why not do some preliminary installation measuring? One thing led to another, any by 2 a.m. I had everyting fully installed.

I'm really pleased with the sleek look on the new install. Previously, I had a Coralife Pro fixture and I didn't realize how bulky it actually looked until I had my Vegas to compare it to.

The lights don't ship with much in the way of documentation, and there isn't much up on the AquaIllumination support site as of yet. However, I got the lights connected to the wireless controller fairly easily last night. After I played with the settings a bit, I set the lights in the auto mode and went to bed.

When I woke up this morning, only one of the lights was on and still in mood light mode. I couldn't get the other light to re-connect to the controller. I did a bit of searching on-line and discovered that I had to put the Vegas into diagnostic mode to connect the controller. I did so and everything worked fine.

I'll post more as I tinker with the settings. I haven't adjusted any of the colors yet. I simply went with the factory settings and turned on the "coral acclimation mode" on the controller. It's a neat feature that starts the light intensity at 50% and slowly ramps it up over whatever time period you specify.

Nice looking set-up ya got there... How long were the cables that you used to hang it with. Looking to do something similar, but I need like 10' cables.

It's the AquaIllumination EXT hanging kit. I'm very impressed with the fit and finish of the hardware. The included cables are 8'. It should be pretty easy to swap them out with longer ones though.

    I got the color Vegas.

As for cost, my existing fixture was due for all new bulbs anyway. That would have been about $400. My old fixture was costing me about $15 per month in electricity, and the Vegas should run me about $5 per month. So, at an energy savings of $120 a year in electricity and $400 a year in bulbs, I should break even in about 2 years.
