My aquarium is on a boat and it rocks. Literally. Vecro'd to my desk, it pivots as the boat rocks back and forth. No expensive wavemakers needed - I have them all beat! :)

I have a unique dot com job in San Francisco as I work on an old boat in San Francisco Bay. Very early on, I thought that the desk I had toward the center of the boat would be ideal for a little tank. 'It might just tilt enough without spilling.' Hmmm.. Well, what do you know - I was right. 8) It sure gets close though - check out the waterline in the video.

    My Dymax IQ3:

    • Green Star Polyps
    • Bubble Coral
    • Yuma Coral
    • Yellow Sponge
    • Local rock anemone
    • Crabs, pods, worms
This tank has been going for 2-3 months now and doing great. The Dymax is a fantastic pico aquarium with built-in wet/dry. I had my doubts with the stock led lights, but everything is growing very well. I haven't done a water change yet but I am planning on it. I do add a few drops of Marineland reef accelerator a couple times a week.

I love this Dymax tank. I think they are the best desk tanks around. Well worth the $69. The boat will cost you a bit more though. :)

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Matt that is so cool.

I have thought of that exact same thing many times as I watched the stove/oven swing back and forth when under way.

So have you made it out of the harbor? I am not prone to sea sickness but I can see where watching a tank below might be cause for concern for me anyway.

    Again very cool.

Wouldn't it be easier to just cut a hole in the bottom of the boat and install a window?jk very cool.

So you're telling us that the stock lighting has been sufficient for LPS for the last 2-3 months? If so, that's amazing...

Thanks for the post, I've been waiting to see some good feedback...

Just a cell-phone video but thanks. I wish it were higher-resolution. I may do a follow up down the road with my good video camera but this one captures the rocking really well.

Thanks Sheryl. This is an old boat. I don't think it's left the dock in a long, long time. It's just a cool office these days.

Thank you! I catch myself staring at it quite a bit. Hopefully my boss won't catch me. :)

Seriously. It comes within less than a 1/4 inch sometimes. But few months on, no spills!

hahhaha thanks. It would be interesting to see what is under the boat around here.

I don't think my boss would allow that!

Yes. The stock LED is working great for my LPS.

Thanks all! Glad you like it.
