My B&W clown died last night. He was not doing well and I had him in a hospital tank to try to administer medication that would help, but he didnt make it. Thanks to you all that replied in the asap forum trying to help me figure out what was wrong with him. His condition changed really fast from when I first noticed he was not looking to good. I generally dont feel too much sadness at the loss of a fish but this one was my favorite. I had him for over a year. He had so much personality and his colors were great(when he was healthy). This is the first fish I have had die since my tank was set up 2 years ago next month. Should I be worried that my other fish may get sick?
Here is a photo of him a few months after I got him just as he was about to lose the last bit of orange on his face.

    RIP buddy

Just make sure that all your other fish are looking ok. Run a complete set of tests on the main tank to make sure something isn't off. Having said all that, fish, like people are all different. Why do some people get sick and others don't? I've had clowns that I swore were bullet proof and some that if the temperature changed one degree they would sit on the bottom.

The other question is this - had your QT tank been set up for awhile before you put the clown in? Or was it setup and then the clown moved in? Some meds can actually kill off beneficial bacteria, and that might have cause the tank to cycle as well.

In any event, keep in mind your clown probably had a much better life in your tank than she would have in the wild.

Sorry to hear... And I feel you man! I've lost many fish... And it really sucks. I havent gaved up yet though. And trust me.. I get really attached to every single fish on my tank. That they become irreplaceable.
My only advice to you now is not to give up and well I really don't know what else to say but sorry for your loss...
