So all I ever here is people saying great things about liveaquaria and I thought people should know the negatives about them. My problems start with their stocking, the one fish I've been wanting never stays in stock. I get the email notif that it's back in stock, go check, and it's gone already. Now the packaging, who tapes the styrofoam box shut and then puts it in a box where the fit is so tight it's a major pain in the a$$ to get out. And the packaging peanuts to completely fill out the styrofoam container, I mean come on who in their right mind likes those peanuts, they just get everywhere. Finally, the bags they put the fish in. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get those industrial strength staples off. And the black-out bags they use, it prevents you from seeing your order as soon as you open the box.

In case you haven't noticed, this was not a bash on their service but rather a praise of how great of a company they are. I've only ordered from them twice but each time they have greatly exceeded my expectations. Karma to you, liveaquaria!

Rare animals rarely last long. You have to be quick to get them. Their customer service for DOA and animals that die during the guarantee period is awesome also.

I totally agree. The only problem I had with them was I ordered three female squamipinnis anthias and they sent me three males. When I sent the email they responded quick and told me too donate the males and that they were going to send me three more females. Guess what happened the second time. Yep you got it, three more males. But they responded in the same way and as third time is a charm, I received the three females and they are alive til this day.

Your livestock is going to get bounced around coming on and off the truck, being moved, put on conveyor belts and everything else. You want as little movement in there as possible since they are going to be treated like its on a roller coaster. Dont beleive me go to youtube and google UPS, USPS, FEDEX or any of the shipper and enjoy the multitude of boxes getting rolled, thrown, shook, kicked and everything else abusive you can think of. Ask anybody that has ever worked there and youll hear all kinds of stories about how the boxes that are marked fragile or livestock and the (sarcasm) 'special treatment' they get. So the more tight fitting, styrofoam, peanuts and everything there is for your benefit. Dont like the metal staples? Those staples arent there to keep you out. They are there to keep water IN.

would rather need a dremel, rambo knife & a hacksaw to get a package open than have one piece of dead livestock. If I wanted it dead I would order it dead then they can put it in a ziplock bag, white envelope & .52 cent stamp it to me in 5-7 days.

Without all the packaging we could enjoy all the nice dead livestock threads.

Yes I know what your saying, just throwing it out there for follow on readers, cause I have actually seen people complain about it.

Good job LA/DD keep up the good work & we'll keep on buying.

Believe me, I used to work at a place called Goin' Postal while I was in HS and College summers. We once had a solid metal water fountain pump get dented in so bad that it was beyond repair. Suffice it to say UPS was out $1500 on that little mistake.

I worked for UPS [STRIKE]throwing[/STRIKE] placing boxes into the back of a trailor. It was 95 degrees outside, 120 in the back of that truck, I was 18yrs old and making $5.15 an hour. I didn't care if it said fragile, liquid, glass or this side up. Because of the place I was working I didn't ever have to worry about livestock though.

I agree liveaquaria does there best to get things to you as healthy as possible.

good luck on your package arriving today. I got a DD order with corals and each coral was in 7 or eight bags if you count the half bags they used.
