so well this starts some more mods to the tank

well yesterday i kind of planned this out, and went to the pet store and got some materials:
loose carbon: $10 for a big bottle
filter floss: $4 for a ginormous bag of it
thats all i got i already had mesh, eggcrate, and some other stuff.

so first off i wanted to have a way to run carbon or another something without paying $4.00+ for a new cartridge every two weeks
so i took some pliers, egg crate, and zip ties and i made this media rack to fit in the first chamber:

    mess i made ;D:

here it is in the first chamber:

ok so i also wanted a little more help filtering out stuff and more areation
so i put back in the drip tray with some filter floss (that bag is gonna last me forever):

alright now was time to put together a bag of carbon:
    step one:
    you need carbon ;D
i used mesh circles from walmart (or in fancy terms tulle circles or something)
and a 1/2 cup measuring utensil as it goes half cup of carbon per 10 gallons
and some fishing line to tie it off
    [IMG]

so scoop the desired amount onto the mesh then grab all the edges so its like a little bag, then take the bit of fishing line, and wrap it around feeding it in and out the little holes so the fishing line stays and tie it off there you go!
don't forget to wash it before you put it in your tank!

ok this brings us to the last venture of the day.
just like when i scraped the paint off of the back for the fuge light i decided i wanted to be able to see the whole thing :)
so i scraped the paint off of the whole back
