    Don't listen to the goof at the pet store. The 2nd chamber is what makes the Biocube a wet/dry filtration system. Some people will tell you to use live rock rubble in place of the plastic balls but personally, I haven't seen a difference except that Bioballs filter out ammonia better. I don't use the Biocube carbon filters, can't see myself spending $5 a piece and can't refill them like the JBJ filtration pack. I cut off the front "pad" from the plastic filter and removed the carbon fill. Then I buy whatever pad I want, cut out 4 little squares, place them in and I have a new, multi purpose filter. And depending on the pad, I can rinse it off and re-use it.

    Right now I have a MJ900 and a Koralia nano 240GPH

    Has anyone tried putting the 425GPH nano in there 14 gallon cube?
