The scratches are on the outside -- Is this acrylic?

I bought it because everyone says they are glass!!

I just clean it with paper towels (Soft ones) and now scratches!!!! :bigcry:

Do I need to clean this with micro fiber or what?

It was my understanding that they are acrylic. I could be wrong... I have an acrylic MagFloat, no scratches.

If it's an Oceanic - its glass.

    Papertowels are like sandpaper.

    Use microfiber cloths or Kimwipes.

And use Vinegar - ditch the ammonia based windex.

ok I will look into some microfiber cloths or Kimwipes.

But I am not using windex just water. Oh and it is oceanic but really? paper towels scratching it -- ridiculous.

You must also be very strong!!! Or stronger than you think! I am willing to bet that due to the fact that papertowels are not considered "edible" that there would be little to no regulation as to the fiber/content consistency (within reason) so it's not a surprise to me that it would scratch.

You wouldn't take paper towels to your brand new flat screen right?

    Same concept here.

no I wouldn't but I would use it on a glass window matter of fact I have yet to scratch a glass window using paper towels IDK I used to do it all the time on a 75 gallon glass tank without issue. This looks like I took a diamond to it....sigh
