My wife and I discovered a new LFS today and she let me go a little overboard for the birthday. Picked up three LPS, a pair of clowns, two shrimp, a mushroom, a new power head/ wavemaker, and ordered LED's to make it all look nice. Here's a few pictures of the corals and shroom. Headed back there tomorrow to discuss the next round as they have a buy 2 get one free on the 17th and she's starting to get excited about the tank. Awesome birthday gift!

    Tank size?

Personally I would just stay away from the yellowtail damsel. If your picking a star I would go with a sandsifter or brittle starfish. Stay away from the linkia. I know they look nice, but most are doomed to a terrible fate as soon as they are caught.

Butterfly may get picked on by the yellow tang. My yellow tang is the most aggressive of four tangs I have.

60g tank. We are looking at color diversity in the fish so if you wouldn't do for ex. Yellow tang what yellow fish would you recommend as a substitute?

And just to add tank size limitation is for now, but expect to go 110 or so in six months to a year

I would recommend a foxface. But if you really want a tang then either a sailfin tang which is sorta yellow or a mimic lemonpeel tang.. I have niether of these, so I cannot comment on temperament.

If you really want a yellow tang then wait till you get the 110 and they buy the yellow tang. Because it already needs a larger tank and it will be the last one to get added it may not be as aggressive.

I believe anthias are fairly timid. I don't know about putting them together with chromis and damsels.

Well, I did it. I got tired of fighting the limited space my tank was giving me with respect to arranging rock and placing corals. I had fought this for the past couple years as a FOWLR tank and, well, I just wasn't doing it again. That and all the fish we'd always wanted needed a bigger tank right? Well I went in the LFS today to order a couple corals and walked out two hours later having ordered a new 120g, stand, skimmer, and 1000g pump. Should be in by end of the week. Yeah we tend to go overboard but I've wanted to go big for a while now and the whole tank reset was a perfect excuse. SWMBO was even on site and gave approval.
