Well looks like my Blenny likes the overflow column more than his 65 gallon tank. For the second time in the past 3 months he is stuck in the overflow column and I’m contemplating just leaving him there. The last time I rescued him I sprung a leak and all my fish got ich from shutting the pump off and siphoning the column every hour in an attempt to save him. Anybody out there have a method on catching him?

What I do when my fish go in to the overflow is leave them in there for a week. I have yet to have the same fish do it again.

When I get the PITA out I use a 1 1/4" ID tubing. It suckes the water out with such force it pulls the fish out of the overflow as well. Not the nicest way to go about it, but it gets the job done. If the fish is too large for the tubing, empty all the water out of the overflow and pick the fish up by hand. Don't squeeze to hard and make sure your hands are wet before you touch it.

I will post the pics tomorrow when I get home from work.

Oh at this point idc if its nice or not haha. The problem is I have durso pipe in the way so there is no way of getting my hands on him. I have to holes one for the durso pipe and one plug that I stripped last time getting him out causing my leak.

I had the exact same thing happen except mine is a center overflow thats against the wall, so i had to take the canopy off and get the ladder out. after that i put mesh over the overflow. he has jumped into it 2 more times but the mesh just makes him slide back into the main tank.
