my blue legged hermits are little stinky pants

HAHA I've seen the same exact thing! I sat and watched a hermie off a turbo. Later that night the same hermit would hop out of his shell into the new one then back. I watched this go on for about an hour. Finally he hopped back into his orignal shell and went truckin off like nothing ever happened. LOL

 

hmmm my gsp has been closed the past couple days, i wonder if thats why....i havent seen them eat it, but maybe they are when im not looking

yea i had hermits once, never again i was told by a few people there good for the tank . well they killed all my snails i had a lot of snails and they were making babies. the hermits ate them all. i finally got all the hermits out of my tank i flushed them there worthless to me.
so if anyone ever was to ask me about hermits i would tell them not to buy them. unless they want there snails eaten.

 

I just put in some new ceriths. Noticed a couple of my hermits are wearing new cerith shells. If these hermits ever die off I won't replace them.

 

This is the reason why I stopped adding hermits to my tank. It's full of empty snail shells lol

 

thing is though, i actually like the small critters like hermits, other crabs, etc, probably more than actual fish. they are fun to watch roam around and do whatever they do

ill always have them i think, i just wish they wouldnt be such jerks

I don't have a problem with blue legs, my red hermits on the other hand kill any snail they can get their hands on with a comperable shell.

 

this is what im talking about.....i just put 10 new ceriths in, and within minutes, 6 hermits came out to be naughty

 

wow that cluster-f of shells is what my tank looks like when my hermits decide they want to get a piece of pellet food all at the same time.
