    How close to the mouth can a starfish get eaten where it can not rebuilt itself? my pencil urchin just took a chuck out of the side of my starfish.

    no experience with one myself, but apparently they have something like a 1% survivability rate in aquariums to begin with....

    so I'd say his ability to survive was never good to begin with :-/:cry:

    he's gonna die and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he was melting to begin with and your urchin was just eating the dead tissue. These guys are very hard to keep alive. I've tried it twice with failure. I won't do it again.
