my clam is growing too fast

    hey im just using t-5 bulbs and have 4 clams along with a full reef tank..for some reason my derosa clam that is on the sand bottom has gone from 3 inches to about 10 in less than a year..at this rate he will be too big for my tank in no time..other clams r growing but wtf my other drosa isnt crazy like this and my maximus grow slow

    Hmmm. Doesnt sound like much of a problem to me. ;) lol thats good. You are keeping it healthy and happy and growth is resulting from that. If it gets too big Im sure you can find a way to trade it or someone to buy it off of you locally.

    pictures would be great

    seems to me its growing fast enough to give you 15 posts in very short time
    and then you could maybe sell it, if its outgrowing your reef tank

    That seems about right to me. You have to take maximum sizes in consideration. Lets say... your clams all grew 25% of their max size in a year. For a maxima, that is only 2". For the Deresa, that is over 5". So they may all be growing at about the same rate, it just looks totally unbalanced to us.

    I will only say this- if that is your only concern please start a thread and share with us what you are doing to have such growth. I have been at this for 12 years and have never had that particular problem- so please....share, I would really like to learn from what you are doing. :)

    Sounds about right for 1 years growth on a derasa. congrats
