Yes, i saw the forum, many times, event before this thread. I agree that those designs that paul recomends are the ideal water flow design, but its not gonna happen in my tank, not this one, because its already set up and has so much rock and sand. So im figuring other ways to do it. So far, my plan is to drill the holes to feed the pumps problably both 4 inches off the top, so i wont have to drop the water level so much. Do you think an om is gonna benefit me that much if im going to have the closeloop mainly behind the rocks? I have been thinking of having one pump feed the the spray bars behind the rocks, and then place two spray bars somewere on each side of the tank, and wire another pump to that spray bar. What do you think. I dont know, i need to figure out the best and more convenient for my tank. I know i am making you guys throw ideas at me without pics, and im sorry for not putting them on, i just get cought up, and .......you all know how it is!
Im going to take pics today no matter how busy i am. Please let me know what you think! Thanks

Check this out, you will only need to drill for the OF, feeds to OM and the back two lines, the front two are above the tank, like this one.

Very nice, he still has two powerhead in there!!!
Okay, i think i know what im going to do. We all got the fact ima be feeding the pumps via two holes ima be drilling.
Im going to run the pumps inline. Im thinking of using two of on a four way om
Sequence ReefFlow Snapper Pump - 2500gph - 98 watts: Premium Aquatics

Then the pumps are gonna feed the ocean motion, and the OM is going to feed the four vertical pvc behind the rock in two ports, and the two horizontal spraybars on the other two ports. all aiming into my tank, then ill have my return pump moving the surface water.
I think im going to have to call paul to see what he think, i know he likes water to be pushed up into the OF, But thats gonna be dificult in my case.

You could get there by using Oceans Motions and only having 2500 gph max then be able to run 2 Little Giant Water Pumps - Pet Solutions model 4-MDQX-SC like I am using. They are super quiet, I was really suprise at how queit they was when moving that much water. That should bring the cost down a little. You either pay the money now for set up or pay it later for chemicals to get rid of algae you don't want ......etc. Comes out of your pocket one way or another...;D

And with that, i should have enough mass water movement in my tank. I think i like what you have better than what i had planned!!!
Okay, since ima use the little giant, how big do i drill the holes. I still make two 2" inch holes, and reduce them till their 1" into the pump, or do i do 1" hole instead of to to feed the pump? How do you sugest i do my plumbing? Im going to search in my thread to make sure this was not answered already. Thanks a lot guys, specially you Otty!!

Drill a 1 3/4" hole for a 1" bulkhead. All of the port on the Super Squirt is 1" so it will match perfectly, also the pumps are 1" in and 1" out. I would feed each pump with it's own hole in the tank so it is not starved for water. Plus you will need to drill a hole for your OF, that is if you are changing from a hang on back OF to a internal one.

Ok, heres my plan, please tell me if i got it right.
Im going to drill two holes for the 1" bulkhead, and plumb both together so both bulkheads will feed one pum, and another pump that will be inline to that one, wich would then go to the super squirt OM, wich will feed 2 vertical pvc in one port, the other two pvc on the other port, and the two horizontal on the other ports. Ima be using all 1" pvc,and reduce to 3/4 for my spray bars in my tank. Am i missing something?

If I am understanding you correct you need to have each hole feed each pump by itself, by taking one line from the tank to pump and then the same on the other, then pipe off the OM to your design you made up. Don't forget the check valves after each Little Giant so if one shuts down the other one still feeds only the OM and not flow back through the props of the dead Little Giant.

Otty so then Turbo is going to need at least 6 holes? 2 for the pumps, and 4 for the squirt?
