May I ask why. It happens in nature and nothing kills them for doing it there. Just bring them to your LFS and let someone else get them. There is my 2 cents. Take it or leave it. And sorry for your loss. I know it sucks.

i had no idea that clams kill fish....why would i set a dam death trap in my own tank

its my own fault for not realizing this fact...they were such beautiful fish too...i hand

picked them waiting months for the right ones....i got a copepod/amphipod culture going

and a brine shrimp culture going to take care of the green mandarin alone

im open to any other theories that you guys might have on what happened to the two

    beautiful fish

now i only have a royal and a clown.... this will have to do for now...i might get another

clown soon....they look good in pairs

I'll take the clams before you take a hammer to them lol!! If the clams got them chances are the fish were weak anyways. A healthy fish shouldn't be eaten by a clam, otherwise clam sales would be way down!

What was the reasoning for covering the tank with aluminum foil anyways?? I've never heard of this method, just curious.

Clams are filter feeders, so how would it eat 2 fish?

Yeah.....do you have any large ornamental shells? I lost a fish that way. Took out the shell when I was aquascaping and didn't think to check for fish. Then, a few days later, the shell started to stink. Oops.

And clams are filter feeders. Reeron is right. They siphon water in and out. They didn't get your fish. I am on the defense team for the clams.

    Sorry about the loss man.
