Odd, all the Clowns I've had have never bitten me. Although I only have had Ocellaris Clowns. In fact, they usually associated my hands with food as I could (almost) feed them by hand. They wouldn't take it out of my hand, but as soon as I released it and it was at least a 1/2 an inch from my fingers, they were all over it. Hands in the tank, Cleaner shrimp(s) all over them, Clowns following my hands around (but at a somewhat safe distance of about 8-9 inches or so unless they saw food, then about 2 inches away waiting for it to be released). Now as soon as I moved something even a hair, the Clowns were freaked out and gone to the other side of the tank, or hiding in their cave(s). The Cleaner shrimp(s) couldn't care less. They only got off once my hands were coming out of the tank.

If you get close to the anemone they are know to do that. My maroon did that to me all the time every time i cleaned my aquarium until he got finger slapped. Just a quick reflection. The animals in this movie wasn't harmed.

    Bite it back!

The species, sex and genetics of the clown determines aggression, along with other factors. GSM seem to be the most aggressive towards hands in the tank.

My female only bites when we put nori in the tank which is every other day. She hates the nori clip. She started doing this about 2 months ago, even though she has been in the tank for a year.

I had a pair of GSM clowns. the female was a royal B!tch, and bit me many times. didnt hurt but was funny. I know some larger ones that have drawn blood from their keepers.
