Well i did a 3 minute freshwater dip on both of them as it was suggested to eliminate the parasites that if/would be on the skin. Luckily both fish look healthy but with minor skin peeling like symptoms on their sides and both have like a tiny little hole in their front bottom fins :( I'm super nervous so any advice is greatly appreciated at this point. I am new to the hobby thus far and this is the first major issue that I have ran across.

What I've done up to this point. I did a 3 minute freshwater dip as my research has stated that for a parasites will drop off very quickly. They are now in my makeshift hospital tank which has a .023 gravity.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Is there a heater in your new QT, if not I would add one and set it for 78-76 F.

    Good luck

My dt doesn't have temp issues and so i moved my heater from my dt to my qt tank. It is set as to 76 but its a big heater and so i will keep an eye on my temp. I also have a pump in there to help circulation and air exchange. The only think I am missing at this point is a skimmer but if i do things right i will just do minimal water changes.

I dont have any copper. . . I did a freshwater dip for 3 mins to get started. . . . I'm going to try and hit up my lfs and get some. I dont have a sponge filter either :( I can pull some lr form my sump but i dont want to run the risk of bringing anything over. I made a fresh batch of salt water tested my gravity and threw in a piece of pvc so they had a place to hide. In case ya can't tell a bit stressed!!! And nervous!!! I hope I dont lose them.

If this is an uncycled QT tank you will need to do daily WC's.If the fish was eating I would have probably just left him alone. Panicking and removing the fish then treating for something when you have no idea what the fish is suffering from will just lead to more trouble. I understand you are trying to help but panicking is not good in this hobby.Sometimes Clowns get a slime coating similar to what you are seeing and it goes away all by itself which is why I asked if it was eating or has clamped fins. Do you have other fish in the tank? If you do removing one fish will not rid your tank of a parasite so I would not worry about bringing LR into the QT.If you have other fish and it is a parasite you are dealing with removing one seemingly infected fish will do nothing to rid your tank of it.Good luck!!
