yeah I have to completely disagree with you.

You cant have tangs on a tank this small, like ive said before any tang needs a 75G minimum to be ok, a 55G at least and thats just for the smallest tangs, they need swimming room and they have a heavy bioload so it just doesnt work for tangs.

a 29g is way to small for one tang let alone two..
i would recommend you to take back the tang to the LFS and just keep your 2 clowns, and the other fish.

in my 29g ( you can check it out on my sig) i barely have 2 clowns a firefish and a diamond goby and id say im a little heavy on stocking.

clowns are territorial, so by you adding to many fish in it could of triggered them to be agressive IMO. Please dont follow the advise of anyone who tells you that its ok to have a tang on a small tank because thats just asking for trouble.

i agree with providing information on what the needs of a fish are before biting their heads off but sometimes people who have been given that information on a nice way, decide to completely ignore it and then go in and about telling other people that what they are doing, keeping tangs in a 29g in this case, is ok, and IMO this is more disgusting.

Remember that it only takes only one person to say that its ok for someone to just jump into it and do it even if the rest of the people say its not. I know this because i used to be this way when i first came into the hobby. I was the " My yellow tang is slapping my blue tang with his tail in my 29g tank"

Help me!!!!!! please!!! yellow tang attacking my blue tang? - Yahoo! Answers
this was before i found 3reef. and I listened to the bad advice of my old lfs.

However, eventually, ( after making my tank crash and loose all of my fish)
i realised that the advice of people even though harsh * and harsh because i was acting stubborn* they were correct.

Im not saying to go and slap people who decide to have it their way, but im saying to not allow bad information to go out and about to other users who dont know better.
IMO we loose more people in the hobby from the bad information that reaches to them because their livestock keeps dying on them and they eventually give up.

You see me yell and scream at people? I would love to have the permalinks pmed to me. You will find me telling people to leave overstocked alone after people constantly telling him he shouldn't have a tang when a tang was not part of the original question (these are the people whom I feel are disgusting and driving people away from 3reef and not the hobby. People will continue doing what they are doing until they have a catastrophic failure. I am trying to prevent this.Overstocked has had many people explain to him why he should not have a tang in his 31G and he is giving another user poor advice and someone needed to say something. I couldn't care less if I look like the bad guy. This is an online forum where multiple users can openly give advice, views, and enjoy their hobby with others.). Another will be craftkid and that was after he started calling users unfriendly names. After that, I believe you will find none. In each case I made one post.

The only time I say anything about tangs is when people are giving what I feel to be poor advice and when multiple users are harassing another user over their fish selection. To ignore the poor advice given to the OP would be a greater crime than making one post about how the information posted is bad.

I'm sorry but I have to agree with elweshomayer, and xmetalfan

Its one thing to be too stubborn to listen to everyones advice on the well being of your aquarium, this instance, and the discus post come to mind with overstocked. And if you want to set up your tank for failure, regardless of the advice you get ... then so be it.

But we need to draw the line, and maybe look like the bad guys when they are passing their poor advice on to people who don't know better.

Being a bit of a Jerk won't drive away as many hobbiests as complete tank failure will, after following the bad advice they got.

There's a big difference between the definition most hobbyists have of "making it work" and your definition.

I can't say your not right.

I think a tangs are 100% ok in a 55g anything thing less it pushing it.

I have had mine from the size of clown fish. I have worked out a deal with my LFS when my Blue get to 6'' and when my yellow get to 4'' i can trade them for baby's again. They will have to keep the fish for 2weeks before the trade to make sure it dose not have ich or something.

You're going to hold onto the blue tang until it's 1/4 the length of your aquarium? You're worse than I thought.
