so i just bought two percula clowns for my tank yesterday and while one is doing just fine the other one is a bit questionable. at first he was just staying in one corner of the tank and this morning i noticed a white spot on his back and it looks like one of his fins is decaying. my boyfriend took him out and put him in a lemonade pitcher with SW from the tank and he says the temperature is fine but it seems like hes not going to make it.. is there anything we can do to save the lil guy?

It's 29 gallons, and the tank has been cycling for 4 weeks. Our water quality is pretty good. We had our water tested before we bought them yesterday, and everything checked out well. My diagnosis is way too much stress. So, I quarantined him, and added stress coat. Anything else I can do? Thanks!

We have 4 chromis, 3 hermit crabs, 1 porcelain crab, and 2 clown fish (hopefully not 1 soon). We should put all of our tanks specs in our signature box...

sorry for you loss, I bought two ocellaris clowns and one died too. I think he may have had clown fish disease. He would not swim much and just stayed in a corner not eating and breathing heavily.

Other clown beat them or intimidated them to death...

    Happens often.

They either stress to death, lose immune system completely and/or generally get whacked and chewed to pieces by other clown.

You may not see it going on. But for sure that is what is happening...

Is way they become big clown/little clown (male) of the tank...

"Clownfish Disease" - gets blamed for way to many clown deaths...odds are your fish don't have it.

Get another and try one a bit smaller then the one you have left.

(Same kind of clown - maybe from different source)

    Sorry for loss. :-[

Good luck with next one. (I lost a couple Maroons early on due to clown mating ritual ) - is reason "mated pairs" cost allot more)
