So perhaps they are getting stung by the corals then?

I would expect it follows along those lines some how.

Clowns also get stung by host aenomes at first but there is no color change there. If a clown is removed from it host amenone long enough, where its mucus surface chemistry changes enough, due to no host aemenone, which does happeny and it now dives in to a host anemone it will get ate, just like any other fish, if it can not escape the crasp..

    Can you take some pics?

We used to get that on CB false percs @ my old store. There are several kinds/reason for the spots. Ive seen the slightly indented ones spread to others and apperaed to be a rapid necrosis, the others seem to be as Boomer stated....a pigmental defect but I believ it to be from or related to inbreeding or weak genetics, or possibly a bacterial issue due to lack of the protective "anemone" mucus.(IMO). Black ich is very easy to spot and basically a certain death sentance to anything in the system. Picture could certainly id the spots.

It looks like what Boomer is talking about. I have no idea why it just happened out of the blue like this though. They have been together and nesting in the same anemone since I got them. I had the anemone first, then introduced the clowns and they moved right in... I can't attach any pics because I am only allowed 29K and the smallest pic I have is like 200K...
Is there anything I can do to help them get rid of the spots?
    Thanks for everything. Ottoberg

The clowns are hosting in a red bulb anemone. They don't venture far from it except at feeding time. Otherwise they are in it or behind it. The anemone attached itself to the underside of a rock that is part of a "cave" that I created. Everybody is doing fine, exept for the spots. Could this be a water quality problem? I have to admit that I have been rather lax because everything has been going so well. I mean, I keep it clean and change the water but ... Well I've been lax in my testing...:-/

No response... Hmmmm. I believe the anemone is actually a Rose anemone, red bulb anemone. I just named it wrong. The spots seem to be "fading", but they're still there.

Like I asked before, could it be a water quality thing? Anybody???
