Everytime I stick my hand in the tank, my clowns bite the hell out me...

Even when I am anticipating it, it still freaks me out lol.

Is this a bad sign or can it be considered normal behaviour? They are fine with each other and look to be happy and stress free, except when my hand comes into play. Is there a way to chill them out? I don't want them to be stressed when i have to go into my tank.

I've heard of it happening, but my clowns have never attempted it... they're both pretty happy go lucky, and the least aggressive fish in my tank, though.

I've heard about this. Thankfully my clowns are sweet. But clowns can be quite territorial and feisty, and they see your hand as an intruder...so attack!!

My Gold stripe maroon in my old tank used to bite me on a regular basis when I was in her side of the tank. never bothered me too much. my Sohal likes to do it now. it is a bit more disconcerning as he is 10" vs the 4" clown. also has a rougher mouth.

My female false perc will constantly nip at me. The male hides.

OC females all the time. Gold-strip maroon actually not much ironically, although they are much more aggressive in general.
