They are both tank raised true percs, and I do not know their sex. I would have assumed that tank raised fish would not be as protective...but what do i know.

haha nothing like a game of bobbing for nemo... my kids would love that!

Clowns will change sex. Big one will be your female and smaller the male. Thats how i understood it.

I have heard many a tale from/about people who were startled enough by their fish attacking them that they smashed their lights by either hitting them with their elbows when they jerked their arms out of the water or splashing water onto the bulbs  I myself had a cinnamon clown that liked to perform electrolysis on my arm anytime I violated its space. I came pretty close to smashing my own bulbs more than once because of it :D

I have a nice scar (actually 2, but one's way worse) on my arm from a 2002 incident with a sneaky cleaner shrimp and a metal halide bulb.

haha I know it is still shocking even when you know it is coming. I have been removing my lights entirely when going into the tank because they rest right on the rim but I am sure I would have elbowed them if they were hanging.

Anyways I went in again today to do a final rock and mushroom arrangement and sure enough they were going at me pretty vigorously. I kept trying to shoo them away but to no avail. So I just dropped a little food in the back corner and they abandoned me in a hurry. I was able to finish up unscathed.

I really want to limit how often I go into the tank now so that I don't annoy them. I want to just let things grow and remain unharassed.

^ a scar! man this is a dangerous hobby!! From dying of palytoxin to being attacked by the fish it should be considered an extreme hobby.
