I've wanted to have a copperband for ages, so after spending a long while finding the right one, yesterday I finally got one!

A very healthy specimen, good weight. Requested to see it eat in the shop, and when it started eating up the food put in I decided he was a reasonably safe bet. Currently in quarantine to make sure that he gets the all clear. Had the lights off for a while, and then only actinics and then it was time for all lights out. Today he's been under the main lights.

I put in some live brine earlier and initially he just picked at it. A few hours later I put in some more, and it was all gone within minutes. Next step is some frozen mysis, I think, and after that some frozen chopped mussel. He's not in a huge volume of water so I'm being careful not to pollute it. Very glad he's already eating as it was quite a concern!

And lastly, here's a picture of him!

Oh, and that's fake rock, not live!

Excellent! It is a beautiful fish, albeit a difficult one to keep (I am told). Best of luck with him.

    Thanks guys!

I've just done my third out of three small feedings today, not too large portions to avoid leftovers. This time it was frozen mysis, which I am glad to say he also took to very well!

More pictures up when I can have better light and when he's a bit more confident.
