She jumped out of the tank. I never dreamed a coral beauty would jump out of the tank. Something must have freaked her out last night. My second jumper (the first was a goby several months ago). I'm going to have to work on a cover for sure. I guess egg crate cut to size? Any other ideas? How do you cut egg crate?

    :help:

    Water parameters
    Temp 78
Sp gravity between 1.024 and 1.025
    pH 8.2
    Nitrite 0
    Nitrate 0
    Ammonia 0

Anyway, I'm just sick about it. She was great - never bothered my zoas. She was doing just fine yesterday. :(

I'm very sorry for your loss.

Egg crate doesn't even have to be cut. You take an old pair of scissors, open them wide, and just push through the line of squares. You typically will have a few straggling pieces of eggcrate because it doesn't always snap right at the edge.

I.e......it's not a cutting motion, it's a forcing through motion

Thanks guys - I really appreciate the suggestions and will investigate tomorrow.....this has not been my day. This morning, I had to take our 12-year-old dog to the vet because he has a mass on his tail and may have to have his tail amputated - he has such a pretty tail :(.....then the coral beauty :(

    aww nooo...what a day. I'm very sorry!!

Maybe something just spooked it really bad. Such a shame when a fish jumps/dies and you don't know why:(

Sorry for your loss. I cut the egg crate with wire cutters. Works like a charm. K+ for your loss.
