With anything you put under the lights you have to consider its cross section. EC doesn't block much light in a single layer, but if you double it you will start to impact the amount of light getting to your tank to a noticeable degree. I don't have any EC here to figure the math on it, but suffice to say you'll reduce you light.

That's why it would only be a night time cover. My mom works in the office with the fish tank, and the lights are on, so we're thinking the idea of a fish jumping AND dying before someone could get to it in the day time would be pretty slim. Both of our fish jump occurances have happened at night.

My mom says that a flame angel would add "too much red" to the tank ::) ::) ::)

So what about a pygmy angelfish?

Many people buy knot less nylon netting (extruded) and put it into a simple "window screen" frame. You can get the frame parts at nearly any HW store. The netting is a bit more difficult to obtain but if a few reefers get together, what used to be called Internet (named before the Internet existed) but now is Industrial Netting has a LARGE selection of netting....

This is the same netting used to capture the fish in our tanks in fact :)

Guys, don't mess with women and colors!!!! You can't win that one. Come to think of it, I need a splash more yellow on the left side of the tank. Maybe a nice fuschia or teal? ;D
