    Hi,
I'm new to saltwater aqauriums. I recently aquired a Coral Beauty. She's new and I know you should wait 48 hours before getting worried but I've owned severel freshwater aqauriums before I started my saltwater and i've never had a feeding problem. Always I'd feed everyone once in the morning and once in the evening. My angelfish didn't eat though, which concerns me since i've never had this problem before. How can I try and entice her to eat?? I've tried flake food, and frozen brine shrimp, but she doesn't want to eat. is it newbe nervousness or should i be worried??:-[

    p.s it's a fish only tank

Coral beauties can be finicky eaters. It can take days for them to eat.

I would try some mysis, cyclopeeze, and look for a food that is specifically designed for angel fish that contains marine sponges and marine algae.

    Good Luck

Thank you for the info, but what exactly is cyclopeeze?? I don't believe I've heard of that.

I feed my tank a wide variety- marine angelfish mix plus brine, mysis, clam, squid, krill, and bloodworms. I have noticed that the pigmy angels almost never touch the brine shrimp. FWIW, I also noticed that with a variety of food available, they stopped nipping at my soft corals.

Here is a link on Coral Beauties it list what they like to eat.

I have also included a link on cyclop-eeze.

I think your best bet is to get a higher quality frozen food, like Rod's Foods. It may not eat for a few days regardless, but to keep it healthy it will need higher quality food than what can be found in most flakes and pellets.

Brine shrimp, are basically empty calories and will not provide enough nutrition long term.

    Hope that helps a little.

Yes I would give her 4-5 days before getting really concerned. Many times they are picking at algae and pods in the tank and you just do not witness it. Once they get acclimated and comfortable they usual start to eat. But I would try the foods mentioned above as soon as you can to give her the best chance.

I like your avatar she is beautiful.
