I'm wondering if anyone knows why my corals did better under a power compact than under metal halide lights? Actually, everything except the fish seem to dislike it.

The corals need time to adjust to the brighter lights.

A maze brain coral, a frogspawn, a red goniopora, a montipora, a pulsating xenia we propagated, some mushrooms, and three small branching stony corals. This is a 75 gallon tank, and the lights are 10,000K 450-750nm (I think) metal halide. We're currently battling a phosphorus problem, but we are getting it under control now. Before that, they still didn't like the lights. I'd say they've been in there almost two months now. How long do they generally take to get acclimated to a new tank?

When did you change the lights ? you need to lower the photo-period and slowly bring them up to speed what K value bulbs did you use ? How long did the P/C's run a day and what are you allowing the M/H's to run now ?
