Have you considered using a reflector with a wider spread. With a 4' x 4' footprint,
I don't feel the Lumenmax was the best choice to maximize performance. IMO, the SLS Lumemax would have hands down been the best choice to light that given area.

The Lumen bright fixture I am using is 20x20. After playing with the hight I finally found the sweet spot (as far up as I can go). The sides are slightly shaded but still receive a ample amount of par and 20k spectrum, I have found that it is perfect for most chalices. My plan is to make the top of the reef strictly sps (along with the inside of the half moon) and the out skirts will be lps (chalices and other low light corals)

I am very familiar with that reflector and only suggesting that the one I suggested will drastically cut down on the spotlight effect of the Lumenbright. I am in no way suggesting that the lumenbright is not a great reflector, just that it struggles to provide light outside of 30". It is clearly visible in the pics and the camera does a better job of seeing what our eyes cannot. If you are happy with it great but I think you might be more happy with my suggestion as the light will not have such a hot spot in the center. I'm sure 3reef members like Dingo would concur with my suggestion. My recomendation is purely based on working directly with both reflectors as well as the distribution charts that Sanjay did on both reflectors.

I under stand what you are saying, I may consider changing in the future as of now I will keep it. I like the way it is working thus far. Thanks for the input and info. What is the spread on the lumenmax?

4' x 4'. It is really the best reflector for lighting a 36" x 36" area or better.

Love all of the pictures. Beautiful, stunning tank. I love how purple your coralline is. May I ask what you do specifically for coralline if anything?

Magnesium levels are key. 1000 watts helps a lot I'm sure.
