I have a pair of Picasso clowns in the sump for a couple of reasons.

    A) it is a copepod breeding haven. They have a unlimited supply of food.

    B) my perculas would kill them if they were in the DT (I have tried and lost)

    C) the sump is a perfect breeding ground.

I always try and put some sort of fish in my sumps. They catch the un eaten food that passes by. I also use SMALL tangs in refugiums to maintain algea. This in return gives them a stronger immune system, so they are less likely to catch ich or other pest. When they outgrow the refuge (which doesn't take long) in the DT they go.

Will you out the clowns in the main tank at some point in time?

No, They will forever stay in my tank. They breed every week, I have tried adding a pair of black onyx clowns with my current percs. They hosted opposite sides of the tank for a couple of weeks and my perc male chased the others out the tank... I would rather have my current pair rather than having multiples. They were my first clowns. I have had them for years.

The planning clearly paid off. Great looking tank.

I've always wanted a cube ... in the middle of a room, viewable from 4 sides ...

I have always wanted a four sided tank. Maybe in the future.
