    ok i have been cycling for almost two weeks now... i tested my aquarium this morning and got this.... amonia 1.2 nitite 0 nitrate 20 now this seems wrong because for the whole cycle my amonia has read 1.2 should i buy a new test kit and see what it says or does this seem normal?

    What type of kit do you use now...Salifert?

    my amonia test kit is nutrafin and my nh2 nh3 test kits is a quick dip from walmart

    My opinion is I would throw those away. Good for freshwater but not for salt. I use Salifert and instead of a color chart that can be miss leading, it goes by how many cc in a syringe you use give you the correct PPM of the water. Much more accurate. As for you cycle...slow down, it's only been two weeks and the only thing in saltwater you get fast is problems.:-/ I am on my 7th week of my cycle so don't go rushing thing, let nature take it course.

    i used nutrafin and i have to say the colour chart is pretty poor the colours are too close to tell apart and my calcium kit hasnt worked for me orm day 1. using tetra now and its been pretty good.

    IMO, I would stick to a reputable salt water test kit such as Salifert, Kent, Seachem or Red Sea!
