Yesterday the wind was blowing strong and a tree arced a power line. I was without power for an hour or so. I biggest worry was my tank with power. Wishing I had a UPS and getting my generator ready power was restored. I’m guessing one of my pumps was gummed up and jammed when the power came on(around 5pm). About 10pm my gets me and says my tank was making noise and she smelt something burning. I rushed the seen and began troubleshooting. Skipping and the nonsense the pump would burp then smoke would rise producing a burning smell. To make a long story short it wasn’t a short it was the pump burning under the water and raising to the surface. Bad news that was my coral deeding line but after a few adjustments its fine till I get some replacement power heads.

No. Just get one that is fabricated. You want one with a three pronged plug (two of the prongs will be plastic. Combined with the GFCI, you have some protection.

There one and the Same.. some people just shorten the GFCI. . It stands for Ground fault current interrupter. Glad it worked out.
