The employees of Lowes and HD have never been know for quality cuts, Wood glass, pipes, you name it. In fact I am surprised it was only 1/18th off. Next time you will know to go to a glass shop and pay the extra $10.

Still Looks good considering what you had to work with.

    Ya,
I have wanted to take a hammer to it several times but I have not yet....

This sump was used for 3 days, then I took it out of the system till I can get a over-flow setup that is cheap.. Right now, I have no funds remaining till after christmas and coming up with some extra cash for ro/di water is not even taking place... so i'm in panic mode for a lil while

ty for all the replies today! I love the support!!

You need the RO/DI before the fuge anyway.

I have the next 3 days off from work......
I'm prolly going to cash in the pennies I have and go pick up some pvc and try to setup a overflow to the sump and give that another try. I'm also trying to work something out with one of the guys I work with as he has a well that he uses for his SW tank .. if so, that would take care of my water needs ..

I'm gonna create a new post here in the next few hours with my ideas... I also just moved one of my linux boxes over by tank and I'm gonna setup lmsensors and mrtg to make some nice temp graphs (i'm too cheap to buy a real monitor system like Otty ) ;)

ty again for all the posts!!!

Yeah.....no problem. As stated above, functionality is alllll that matters in this case. If you get too OCD on the DIY projects, it will drive you crazy. I know I have learned to let things go with my DIY projects and tell my OCD to mellow out. You should see the job I did on my 20g long sump/fuge. Don't care. It works. Drove me crazy for a couple of days but now I don't notice it because it is anything but clean.

I got my 6 stage RO/DI off ebay for $120, it pushed like 80GPD. It works well, TDS of 10ppm. That is a bit more important than a fuge in my opinion.

We needed the tube for the setup we are using for water-changes. More or less, we have a 5g bucket that works like an auto-top-off so we flip the switch and 5g comes out and once the 5g limit is reached - the new 5g is put in.

Nothing special, just a redneck setup. ;)
