Its working so far.;)Definitely GHA starting to develop with a little Cyano thrown in the mix I believe.Won't really know for sure until I clean it.Which will be soon .

15 days growth and so far no channeling. Water is still flowing evenly over the screen/algae.;) I think part of the success I have so far has to do with the way the water is channeled over the refugium section of my sump. The water at the head of the screen is being forced upward from the bubble trap baffle;straight across the refugium(now ats screen); into another gated baffle for the return pump at the same height. This keeps the water from wanting to go under the screen and forces it over with great wave action .It has also benefited from being almost completely across the width of the sump.I would have gone completely across but didn't want the water underneath to become stagnant.(anal? probably lol)

I think I just figured out how to mount this to the refugium in a way were there is less chance of channeling (Though this has not been an issue so far) ,no eggcrate needed, perfect depth with no need to adjust the position of the screen after cleaning, and making the screen removable without zipties. I may want to patent this.LOL

The small patches of Cyano I had in the display tank are gone and my glass has stayed clean for 4 days now.I have taken my Carbon and GFO offline.;)
I was not using the fuge for anything except the pumps for my Reactors.

Love your dedication and thinking outside the box on this. I read your string and had a few questions if you don't mind. I just put in a eshopps r300 under my 180 AGA that sound like a perfect setup for what you are trying to do.

What are you thoughts on taking the screen, using zip ties and stone as anchors to weight down the upstream side near the first chamber. Then the water passes thru and up and over to the downstream side left unweighted to float on the top? I was not sure if you we're talking about this or have tried it.

Also any idea on led for the sump? I am with you on the 24w 2700k cfl. Everything I read based on a single side screen with roughly your dimensions would work.

Ps. Whales Rib rules. Lived in Springs 20 years but now in NC. They ever rebuild the pier?
